Shipment Updates
Ocean Freight Container Logistics for Hospital Furniture Projects
Published

Equipping hospitals, specialty clinics, and diagnostic centres requires moving large, irregularly shaped mechanical and electrical furniture over long distances. NORTH LAB Medikal coordinates containerised multi-product shipments that combine clinical ward beds, examination couches, and modular support accessories into balanced, damage-free container consignments.
A recent multi-product container loading illustrates the care required: structural examination couch and bed frames are bundled in heavy-duty, moisture-resistant industrial woven packaging, vertically nested and secured, with modular accessories and components boxed and positioned above to prevent load crush.
Protective Packaging Engineered for Heavy Clinical Furniture
Hospital beds, examination couches, and metal surgical furniture require a specialized packaging approach distinct from standard corrugated cartons. Finished powder-coated and stainless steel surfaces are first foam-padded against abrasion, followed by high-tensile woven outer wraps that resist tears, dust, and coastal humidity.
Heavy steel tubular bases and chassis are positioned at the container floor and side walls, creating a rigid foundation that prevents lateral movement during heavy sea conditions. Smaller mechanical components, hydraulic controls, and side attachments are packed in reinforced master cartons and top-loaded to optimize vertical volume.
Coordinated Intermodal Transport from Port to Hospital Site
Following container stuffing and security sealing, consignments are routed through international ocean freight carriers (including Maersk line networks) using standardized 40-foot High-Cube containers rated for up to 32,500 kg gross weight.
NORTH LAB coordinates the entire chain—from factory stuffing oversight and bill of lading documentation to customs clearance and final transport staging in Istanbul. This end-to-end management gives hospital purchasing directors and overseas buyers confidence that complete facility fit-out packages will arrive intact, on schedule, and ready for clinical deployment.
